To understand this event, you must first look at the world class facility of Sand Hollow, in Hurricane, Utah. Offering thousands of all-access off-road acreage embedded with trails ranging from Mild to Wild; Sand Hollow also offers the only location that entails a 5 star resort retreat complete with 18 hole golf course, villas, a restaurant, and services. Along with lake access year round, both dry and wet camping facilities, and the very off-road friendly City of Hurricane, only 3 miles away all make this a prime location. It is a mecca for 4-wheel drive enthusiasts!
Trail Hero will host the second annual Happy Gilmore Golf Tourney at Sand Hollow Resort, where you’ll play the 9-hole Links course with a shotgun start, and on the driving range and putting green we have additional challenges for participants to win prizes. We had a blast last year, and encourage anyone to join in, participate, heckle…. lets just say its not your average golf tourney. 4Wheel to Heal.
Trail Hero concentrates on a 5-day Trail Ride that is designed to keep the entertainment flowing. After the trails are done for the day, participants can take part, or watch, our afternoon activities that include attempting to conquer Bounty Hill, break new ground on the hardest trail in the country at the Trail Breaker, Party at the beach with slip-n-slide and grab a snow cone while hanging out at the nightly bon fire. Trail Hero also showcases a high speed Rock Race, and tie together the industry with a very formidable vendor show that features charitable raffles, live music, onsite catering, jeep show, and a world class Vendor Expo featuring your favorite manufacturers from across the country during the Closing Ceremonies celebration!
Simply put, no single event has ever had every aspect of our sport on one platform until now! You can sign up for guided trails, but definitely join us for our afternoon activities as they are FREE to Spectators. Charitable donations accepted by Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association, 4Wheel to Heal, and Hero For A Day.
In Early October, Hurricane Utah can still have a high of the Mid to low 80’s with an average low of 50. Rain becomes more prevalent later in the month from the middle to end of October. The Mid 80’s makes Hurricane a perfect wheeling destination during the early part of October. Furthermore, the fall colors start changing the scenery into a picturesque experience. Southern Utah is known widely for it’s color country and October is the climax of the change from Summer to Fall Colors.
Zion National Park (25 miles) and the Grand Canyon National Park (100 miles) are within driving distance from Hurricane, Utah. Southern Utah also enjoys Snow Canyon State Park, Red Rock Desert Reserve, and various other outdoor activities to experience while you are at Trail Hero.
